Malachite Green Oxalate

Malachite Green Oxalate CAS: 2437-29-8 | MF: C23H25N2.C2HO4.0.5C2H2O4 | MW: 463.5, Buy Histological Stains & Dyes for Histology, Cytology, Microbiology, Hematology & Biology Lab from TriStains at Chemical World.

Malachite Green Oxalate (CAS No. 2437-29-8) is an artificial triphenylmethane dye product that is distributed as a bright green crystalline material. Its molecular composition C23H25N2.C2HO4.0.5C2H2O4 identifies it as the oxalate salt form of Basic Green 4, also known as N,N,N?,N?-Tetramethyl-4,4?-diaminotriphenylcarbenium oxalate. Unlike the hydrochloride variant, this compound contains an oxalate counterion, enhancing its solubility profile. The dye structure is made of three phenyl rings and one carbon atom in the middle, which is bonded with one dimethylamine amino group, and this gives it a high chromatic value with chemical stability

Applications

  • Phosphatase Detection: Malachite Green Oxalate is widely used in colorimetric phosphate determinations. It reacts with molybdate in the presence of phosphate ions to form a green-colored complex, and is thus a crucial reagent in biochemical studies and environmental analysis of phosphates.
  • Alexander Staining Solution: The dye is an important component of the stain Alexander uses to determine the viability of plant tissues, cellular differentiation and pollen fertility in botanical and cytological studies.
  • Textile Industry: Besides use as a lab material, it is also used in textile processing to improve the quality and efficiency of coloration of fabrics.

Key features

  • Highly Versatile: Applicable in histology, cytology, microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology and environmental testing.
  • Stable and Soluble: Dissolves well in water, ethanol and other organic solvents with a steady staining intensity.
  • Delivers Reliable Results: Gives good contrast and reproducible staining, which guarantees good microscopic analysis and interpretation.
