.

Janus Green B Certified is a dye that comes in black, very dark brown, or very dark green colors. This dye belongs to the phenazine group and is classified as a cationic dye with the chemical formula C30H31ClN6. It is also referred to as 3-Diethylamino-7-(4-dimethylaminophenylazo)-5-phenylphenazinium chloride, Diazin Green S, and Union Green B. Janus Green B is a popular and extensively studied dye that is commonly used in cell biology, histology, and biochemical research.

TriStains provides a marketplace for histology and biological stains, which is comprehensive enough to encompass the peculiar requirements of laboratories specializing in Histology, Cytology, Microbiology, and Hematology. With a reputation for exceeding quality expectations.

TriStains chromatic performance is outstanding which allows for resolution of cell and tissue components fundamental to life sciences to be clearly visualized. Each product under TriStains series is validated for accuracy, reliability and consistency. TriStains, which manufactures and markets stains and indicators in various packing, offers laboratories turn key solutions for all their staining and indicator needs, improving accuracy in every experiment.

Application :

  • Janus Green B should be oxidized to become colored. Thus, this dye can be used to specifically stain mitochondria in living cells.
  • It has been used to stain biomolecules, nucleic acids and chromosomes.

Benefits :

  • Selectively stains mitochondria due to its cationic nature
  • Certified for use in biological applications
  • Useful as a fluorescent probe and redox indicator

Janus Green B is a stain that interacts with DNA and has been used for histology studies including mitochondrial staining, in which its oxidation and reduction reveals alterations to the electron transfer chain. The stain has been utilized in studies for effective and rapid staining of insect chordotonal organs and peripheral nerves, where the nerves appear dark blue in comparison to non stained tissue. With the use of Janus Green B, rabbit lymphatic vessel studies demonstrate that threadlike structures within the lymphatic vessels, known as Bonghan ducts, contain a high density of mitochondria in their cells.
