Ethyl Violet

Ethyl Violet CAS: 2390-59-2 | MF: C31H42N3Cl | MW: 492.14, Buy now for reliable and reproducible results from Tristains at Chemical World.

Ethyl Violet is a greenish powdered dye that is chemically composed of C31H42N3Cl. Ethyl Purple 6B, or Basic Violet 4, is a very soluble compound in water, alcohol and in many organic solvents. Ethyl Violet, which belongs to triarylmethane dye family, is characterized by bright colour and pronounced staining levels. It is on a broad use in laboratory scientific fields, biochemistry studies, textile processing and industrial analysis.

Applications

  • Ethyl Violet in histology is used as a staining material to increase the contrast of tissues and the visibility of the cell under a microscope, and is frequently used together with other stain agents.
  • To check the presence of acidity and alkalinity, it is usually employed as a pH indicator in a biochemical experiment.
  • This also finds use as a tissue stain and as an extractive spectrophotometric analyzer of anionic surfactants.

Key features

  • Bright and Solid Color Production: Gives an excellent violet stain that is applicable in both laboratory diagnostics and staining in industry.
  • Superior Solubility: Easy to dissolve in aqueous and organic solvents, which is easy to prepare and use.
  • High Stability and Lightfastness: Guarantees a long shelf life color with very little distortion.
  • Reliable Performance: Gathers regular outcomes in chemical and histological analysis, and the industry.
  • Multi-purpose and Cost-Effective: Different applications at a limited cost.

General Description

Ethyl Violent is a high-quality dye with laboratory-grade properties that finds widespread use in both scientific studies and industry. In histological staining, it aids in making a clear distinction between the structure of tissues in order to analyse them properly under the microscope. It is useful in biochemical and analytical tests, due to its color-changing properties, which are sensitive to pH. It is also highly soluble and fades slowly, which is also advantageous in terms of textile coloration and other industrial processes in which the permanence of color is critical.

Ethyl violet is a cationic triarylmethane dye that is the ethyl homolog of crystal violet. It is a general histological and pathological stain. Ethyl violet has been used to stain pancreatic tissue and elastin in the detection of gram negative bacteria, and as a reagent for the extractive-spectrophotometric determination of anionic surfactants. Ethyl violet induces mitochondrial permeability. It has been used in the extraction and spectrophotometric determination of copper. Along with the anionic dye zincon, ethyl violet is used in counterion dye of proteins in SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.
