Tetrahydrofuran ACS (THF)

ACS Grade Tetrahydrofuran (THF) | CAS: 109-99-9 | M.F: C4H8O | MW: 72.11, Buy now for reproducible and consistent results from ChemieR at Chemical World.

Tetrahydrofuran (THF) ACS is a clear colorless organic liquid. Tetrahydrofuran's chemical formula is C4H8O. It is miscible in water and has good solubility in a wide range of solvents. Due to organic peroxides formation on long term storage, THF is usually stabilized by adding butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT). BHT removes the free radicals required for the peroxide formation. Tetrahydrofuran is also known as Butylene oxide, Oxolane and Tetramethylene oxide. It is a compound of four carbons and one oxygen connected in a ring formation to form a cyclic ether. ACS grade Tetrahydrofuran contains high purity and quality therefore it is used for different industrial applications.

ChemieR offers a comprehensive range of ACS grade and ISO 9001:2015 certified products, including high-purity solvents, inorganic reagents, acids, bases, and organic reagents. Our high-quality materials ensure your laboratory achieves precise, reproducible results every time. Rely on ChemieR for trusted, premium-grade chemicals that meet the highest industry standards.

Application :

  • Tetrahydrofuran (THF) ACS is widely used as a solvent in organic synthesis, being very popular in reactions with organometallic compounds and Grignard reagents.
  • It is abundantly utilized as a polymer precursor in various polymer production sectors.
  • THF is as an industrial solvent for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and in varnishes.

Key features :

  • High quality and purity product which met the toughest standard of the American Chemical Society (ACS)
  • Versatile and highly efficient solvent with low viscosity
  • As an aprotic solvent, to dissolve both polar and non-polar chemical compounds
