1-Pentanol ACS is a clear liquid characterized by a unique scent. This organic compound has the chemical formula C5H12O and is categorized as a primary alcohol. It is one of eight isomeric alcohols and is classified as a monohydroxy alcohol. Commonly referred to as 1-Pentyl alcohol, 1-Hydroxy pentane, n-Amyl alcohol, Amyl alcohol, and Butyl carbinol, 1-Pentanol exhibits lower solubility in water compared to methanol (22g/L) but is miscible with alcohols, ethers, acetone, and most organic solvents. Its applications include serving as a solvent, a biological drying agent, and in the production of certain fragrance compounds. As an ACS grade reagent, it is noted for its high purity and quality, making it particularly suitable for use as a solvent in various industrial processes.
ChemieR offers a comprehensive range of ACS grade and ISO 9001:2015 certified products, including high-purity solvents, inorganic reagents, acids, bases, and organic reagents.
