.Fast Green FCF, also known as C.I. 42053 or Food Green 3, is a synthetic, water-soluble dye belonging to the triarylmethane class of colorants. This dark green, crystalline powder is extensively used as a food coloring agent. Its chemical formula is C37H34N2O10S3Na2. The dye is certified for the safranin-fast green FCF stain for plant cells and as a substitute for aniline blue in Gomori's one-step trichrome procedure. It is a sensitive stain for proteins in polyacrylamide gels, particularly suitable for isoelectric focusing. Additionally, Fast Green FCF serves as a cytological counterstain and mammalian tissue stain for muscle and collagen.
TriStains provides a marketplace for histology and biological stains, which is comprehensive enough to encompass the peculiar requirements of laboratories specializing in Histology, Cytology, Microbiology, and Hematology. With a reputation for exceeding quality expectations.
TriStains chromatic performance is outstanding which allows for resolution of cell and tissue components fundamental to life sciences to be clearly visualized. Each product under TriStains series is validated for accuracy, reliability and consistency. TriStains, which manufactures and markets stains and indicators in various packing, offers laboratories turn key solutions for all their staining and indicator needs, improving accuracy in every experiment.
Application :
- In the field of histology, Fast Green FCF can be used as a staining agent, often in combination with other dyes, to enhance the visualization of cellular structures and tissues under a microscope. It is used along with safranin for the staining of nodule sections, in the collagen deposit staining procedure and for the staining of protein and starch.
- Fast Green FCF finds application in various analytical techniques, such as chromatography and spectrophotometry, where it is used as a tracer or indicator dye.
- It is used for protein staining in IEF, native PAGE and SDS-PAGE. Fast Green staining is linear over a wider range of protein concentrations than Brilliant Blue R.
- After electrophoresis, fixing the proteins in the gel is recommended for maximum sensitivity. The stained gel can be scanned at 625 nm. The detection sensitivity is approx. 30% that with Brilliant Blue R.
Benefits :
- Certified food coloring agent ensuring its safety and compliance with food regulations
- Valuable colorant for achieving desired visual effects
- Versatile and stable
