Application :

  • 2-Octanol ACS is used as a reducer in the preparation of monodispersed nickel nanocrystals.
  • This compound is classified as a secondary alcohol, which can undergo oxidation by nitric acid to yield 2-octanone. Additionally, the efficacy of Al-Cu and Al-Cu-Mg mixed oxides in catalyzing the dehydrogenation of 2-octanol has been examined.
  • The kinetics of the reaction leading to the formation of ammonium sec-octyl sulfate through the interaction of 2-octanol and sulfamic acid has been documented.
